Privacy Policy

SureShot (“SureShot”, “we”, “us”) helps photographers scout locations and plan shoots at ssapp.co. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, we receive these from Google; we do not receive your Google password.
• Photos you upload. Location (backdrop) photos, community photos and photos of shoot subjects, along with their embedded metadata such as the date taken and GPS coordinates.
• Shoot and client details. Locations, saved places, gear lists, shoot plans, and details you enter about your clients or subjects (for example a name, email address, and notes). Analysis of subject photos can include descriptive attributes such as clothing colors, hair color and skin tone, which are used only to make lighting and backdrop recommendations.
• Community activity. Ratings, votes, reports and the photos you choose to share with the community.
• Notification settings. Your time zone, alert preferences and, if you enable push notifications, a browser push subscription.
• Payment information. Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and plan status; we never see or store your full card number.
• Technical information. Server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) used for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in forms. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

How we use information

• To provide the service: analyzing photos, scoring locations, building shoot plans and alerts.
• To run your account, process subscriptions and provide support.
• To show community content you chose to share, with attribution if you opted in.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To send service messages and the notifications you turn on.

Service providers we share with

We share only what each provider needs to perform its function:

• Google — sign-in.
• Anthropic — AI analysis of the photos you upload. Photos are sent for analysis and are not used by us to train models.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Open-Meteo and a routing service — weather forecasts and drive times, using the coordinates of your locations.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting and storage.
• Browser push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla) — delivering notifications you enable.
• Instagram — community photos may be featured on SureShot’s Instagram account only after review, and only photos shared to the community.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

• Private locations are visible only to you; community locations are visible to other users.
• You can edit or delete your locations, photos, subjects and plans at any time.
• You can turn notifications off in your settings or browser.
• You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your account and data by emailing admin@ssapp.co. If you signed in with Google you can also remove SureShot’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Retention and security

We keep your information while your account is active and delete it within a reasonable time after you ask us to delete your account, except where we must keep records (for example billing records) for legal reasons. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.

Children

SureShot is not directed to children under 13 and they may not create accounts. Photographers who upload photos of minors as shoot subjects are responsible for having the parent or guardian’s permission.

Google user data

SureShot’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only your basic profile and email address, and use them only to create and sign in to your account.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
